🌼INTRODUCING KIN KEEPERS LIVE STORYTELLING
Something new! Something bold! We can't wait to see you there!
We are super excited to share with you on this Summer Solstice that we have created our first live storytelling series! Kin Keepers is a live storytelling series where established and emerging voices share a virtual stage to uncover things that aren’t typically said aloud. We are making the invisible, visible. We are taking the approach that we belong to a global community, each of us on this single thread. We each have a responsibility to keep it sturdy and durable.
This quote by Gwendolyn Brooks’ is the ethos behind Kin Keepers Live Storytelling. We cannot wait for you to join us!
August 17 | First Gen & First Born Daughters
Submissions close July 10
Selected storytellers will be notified by July 20
Our first event is scheduled for August 17, 2024 at 10AM EST! Our storytelling series will run in the spirit of an open mic where the written word will take form and come to life.
First generation & first born daughters. We’re a very specific group, eh? Prepare a 5-minute story about being a first-gen and/or first-born daughter. Share the unique responsibilities, challenges, and triumphs of navigating two cultures, breaking new ground, and paving the way for your younger siblings. Tell us stories of how you’re breaking generational curses, toed the line of being different from everyone else in the family, of longing for a home that might not feel like yours.
