ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Overview
In this course, we will be guided in the practice of breathing mindfully using a variety of techniques that can support us as writers. We will start with an opening circle where everyone can set an intention in addition to a collective intention that will ground us for the duration of the workshop. Then, we will work with various art forms—including music, visual art, and poetry—and use them to practice different breathing techniques. The breathing will allow us to calm our minds and subconsciously process the poem, image, or song so that we can open up our senses and write in any form we want.
